Occasionally I need to submit an article or two to a few article directories to help with traffic and rankings. Here is a free SEO article submitter that will help you do this.
My general rules with this application and submitting articles are…
1. I personally only use it to submit to the top 10 or 12 article directories as I just don’t have the time to submit to all of them. Here is a list of the main article directories I submit to…

It seems that the latest craze is to right a press release every two weeks or month simply to acquire more backlinks for rankings. The question that then comes to mind is… how effective is this in increasing rankings and is it the best (or worst) option long term?
So before we answer this question, we really need to take a step back and ask… what is a press release?
A press release is a statement of news.
News of your new site, a new product you are launching, new free services for customers, additional areas of the industry you are looking to move into, comments and insights you have on current industry trends and so on.
Are you new to wordpress and not sure how to write up posts, scrutinize comments before they are placed on your blog and install plugins?
Well no need to worry as you are not alone! As I myself am getting busier with helping readers and clients learn about wordpress, I am getting more and more people asking about doing these simple tasks at the beginning of their learning process.
I have therefore whipped together a quick video which whizzes around the wordpress admin panel showing the different section and giving some easy instructions on how to use each.
A couple of resources I thought I would mention of which I find extremely useful and visit regularly or think you may be interested in.
VA Forum - Although I am certain I could be giving tips and information on a stack of SEO forums, it’s juts not quite my cup of tea. Instead I spend a fair bit of time where possible on the VA forum.
A great bunch of people who are all running businesses of various sizes and have a mountain of knowledge to share with any who ask.
Ez SEO NEws - If you haven’t heard of Andy Williams then you are either new to online marketing or have been living under a rock!
What makes a good silo or themed site/blog in terms of SEO? That it is actually a silo structure would be a great help to start one would think!
Well the guys over at http://www.virtual-silo.com/ have attempted to build a silo plugin for wordpress but to be honest have done a pretty poor job.
A typical silo or theme structure runs all pages off a category page or index, thus the name silo.
What these guys have come up with is to link one category page to the next and then eventually back to the next category. Sound like a silo to you? I don’t think so.
One post I forgot to put in last month was the launch of XSitePro V2
This piece of website building software has been around for some years and is great for building all types of websites from general sales latter sites right through to Adsense sites.
The biggest advantage of Xsitepro is that there is no need to learn html as it comes with very easy to follow instructions and web design templates. On top of that add built apps which make all sites highly SEO optimized and friendly plus the new version comes with a stack of other great features and new templates.
If you don’t know the name John Reese you must be living in a cage! Well it’s been 4 years since he launched traffic secrets and his now doing the pre launch for traffic secrets 2.0.
In these couple of videos his gives some very good general information on how to go about getting traffic by various means including web2.0 and SEO. He also talks a lot about content and building/obtaining a larger percentage of content on the web which make good sense.
I love John’s work as it is always in the main always backed up by solid research.
The only downside of his last traffic secrets was the sheer volume of information. One of the biggest problems faced by most online marketers is that they try to do many marketing tactics at once.
This is fantastic if you have the budget and resources to do so but if you are a solopreneur or a micro business you will be spreading yourself too thin and getting no where fast.
